A reclaimed ash log serves as a pedestal for a steel arm. The arm moves up and down, powered by Arduino and a servo device. A hanging pendulum moves with the arm  thus creating a sound.

This sound that we hear is recognized  as a rhythm or beat, similar to a metronome. Hence the title of this project. Occasionally there are offbeats that deviate from the true BPM.  While playing to this rhythm, the unexpected change gives room for improvisation. It also reminds the musician and listener that there is space to play freely.
