Spoon 

When a piece of wood cannot be used for a bigger project anymore, it is usually turned into a spoon or piece of cutlery. I use green wood (freshly cut) from trees that were trimmed or fell during a storm. I use what find however I do prefer some types of wood over others.

When carving, I focus on incorporating the piece of woods character such as knots or burls into the spoon. Focusing on curvature and concave of spoons create a sculptural object that just so happens to be a spoon. Over time, a recognizable style develops and a "spoon timeline"  can be seen.

Spoons are made with traditional hand tools only.
